Episode Details
Erica orders Officer Yates to get Dr Miller. All of the women have to be locked in their cells while Franky is sent to solitary. When Officer Yates goes to get Greg he is too busy delivering Rosie's baby so he gets the Nurse to go to attend to Bill instead. Officer Yates is told by Greg to stay with him to help.
The nurse tells Bill that she has to remove the scissors from his body before he is moved. Vera questions Eddie if he knows where Marilyn is. He tells her that she's in the Rec Room. Erica warns him not to tell anybody anything about what's happened.
Bill is taken by ambulance to the hospital. Meg tells him not to worry about what has happened. He tells her that he tried to ring Marty earlier but there was not reply. She says she'll phone him from the hospital.
Bea tells Doreen that if the police make her life a misery because of what's happened, it's going to be worse for them. Marilyn is brought back to their cell and tells them that she's been with Eddie. The other girls tell him what's happened and that they don't know who stabbed Bill - but Bea intends to find out.
Mum phones the prison and asks to speak to Bill Jackson. The officer who answers [ ] isn't sure what to say so she asks Mrs Davidson who takes over the phone call. Mum tells her that she'll call back later. She is reminded by her landlord that the rent is due tomorrow.
Vera questions Erica about involving the police. Greg comes in and announces that Rosie has given birth to a boy. The phone rings... Bill Jackson has died.
Meg is at home. Greg comes to see her. He tells her that the scissors pierced Bill's lung and it would have made no difference if he was there or not. He asks where Marty is and Meg says she doesn't know. Meg refuses Greg's offer to give her something to help her sleep. She asks him to leave. At that moment Marty comes home. The two of them argue immediately about where he's been. Greg tells Marty that his father has died. Meg breaks down.
Back at Wentworth the news has spread about Bill's death. The women are shouting it through the cells so everyone knows. Everyone involved in the riot is confined to their cells. Karen tells Vera that she wasn't involved and implies that she stabbed him.
The police are examining Bill's office but don't find anything. They interview Erica who advises that the normal procedure was followed. A list has been made of the group of prisoners involved. The police sergeant [ ], Jack, asks Erica why it took so long for them to be called as Bill was stabbed long after the riot started. Erica explains that she didn't want any publicity and that she thought they could handle it. The prisoner's interviews with the police are to be held in Bill's office.
Meg and Marty talk back at home about what has happened. He tells his mother not to shut him out. Marty says that he's not going to school today but Meg makes him go.
Lyn is brought for questioning. She tells the sergeant that she has nothing to say and gets upset about being innocent and nobody caring. Eddie Cook is waiting outside. Officer Yates tells him he will be questioned later. Marilyn spots him and he tells her that he saw who did it. She tells him not to tell the police - it will be taken care of inside the prison.
Meg turns up for work. Greg tells her that she should be at home. She responds: "Somebody's got to look after the animals".
Franky is interviewed by the police. We discover that her real name is Freda. She says that it could have been any of the women, as he was one of the few men inside the prison. The sergeant talks to Meg about her husband's death. She tells him that all of the women are responsible as far as she is concerned.
The women are let out of their cells by Vera, on Erica's orders. They return to work. Chrissie tells Bea that she knows who did it and makes everyone think that it was Karen. Bea isn't convinced. She says sorry to Meg about Bill's death. When Meg asks for the name of the person who killed him, nobody answers. She tells everyone that she will make life hell for everyone. Marilyn tells Bea that Eddie saw who did it. Chrissie looks on, concerned.
Eddie is questioned about his movements yesterday. The police have looked at the fuses and don't think it would have taken so long to fix them. Eddie tells the truth and says he was with Marilyn Mason. He says he didn't see who stabbed Bill because he was at the other end of the corridor.
On his way out, Eddie has to walk through the cell block and is stopped by Bea and the other women. He tells Bea that he didn't say anything. Bea asks who did kill him.
Bea returns to the laundry and tells everyone that she knows who killed Bill. He tells Karen to go outside because she doesn't want to get involved. Bea and her mates grab hold of Chrissie. Bea questions her about Bill and tells her to own up - if she doesn't, Bea will make her wish she'd never been born.
Meg comes to the Governor's office to see her. The women tricked Meg by saying that Erica wanted to see her, so she would leave the laundry. She gets upset and tells Erica that Bill was too good for the prison. Erica asks Meg to take some time off but Meg refuses.
Marty is at school (wearing a very tight pair of trousers) with his girl friend, Donna. He tells her that his father is dead. She tells Marty that she will come home with him from school and talk to his mother.
At Mum's motel, she goes out to the post office to get the rent money. She's got a nasty cough. She notices in the newspaper that Bill has been killed. She phones the prison and asks to speak to Meg, who refuses to speak to her.
The women are watching television in the rec room. Meg comes in and switches it off. She tells Bea that the doesn't run the place. Bea decides it's time Meg finds out who killed Bill.
Chrissie runs through the prison and finds Franky locked in. She asks for her help - she needs protection against Bea. Franky realises that Chrissie killed Bill. When Franky refuses to help, Chrissie spits on her face. She tells Chrissie to go off and kill herself to save the women doing it.
Chrissie is caught by the other women. Bea shows Chrissie the scissors and cuts up some of her uniform with them. She reminds Chrissie about a film they watched on television where people were scalped... she says it could work with scissors but would be a lot more messy...
There's a commotion coming from Chrissie's cell. Meg and Vera notice it and come to see what's happened. Chrissie, now with chunks of her hair missing and blood on her clothes, admits to Meg that she killed her husband. Meg looks horrified.
Chrissie is interviewed by the police. Meg is in the room during the interview. Chrissie says that she meant to stab Meg. Meg is upset and has to leave the room. Erica arranges for Chrissie to be transferred to another prison.
Erica tells Meg to go home - "and that's an order".
Marty and Donna have come home. Meg arrives. Donna offers to help but Meg says there's nothing anyone can do. Donna goes home. Meg tells Marty that they found out who stabbed Bill. He says he doesn't want to know because it's just another name.
Bill's funeral is held. Meg is wearing an interesting blue head-scarf while Erica goes for a black suit, with matching umbrella and hat [ ]. Erica tells Meg to take as much time off as she likes. She tells Erica that she'll be in that afternoon. She's to report to Erica's office when she arrives. Mum is lurking in the background, out of sight. Meg notices her and stops, but walks on.
Back at the motel, the landlord's wife reminds Mum that her rent is due. She goes to her room to get the money. She stands on a chair to reach the top of the wardrobe but falls off it. The landlord's wife hears this and comes to her room. Mum is slumped on the floor. The woman goes through Mum's handbag and finds a number for someone by the name of Watkins. She goes out to phone them. There's no reply. The woman won't call an ambulance.
In the Recroom, Marilyn tells everyone that Chrissie has just been taken away in the paddy wagon. Franky is brought back to the other women by Vera. Meg walks in on them and tells them all to 'watch yourself' or they will be sent to Solitary.
Lyn comes to Erica's office. Erica tells her that her appeal request has been turned down - she has no grounds for a re-trial. Erica says that she has to bring some new evidence before any further requests are granted.
Meg reports to Erica. Erica has been speaking to the Department and tells Meg that she will be receiving some compensation for Bill's death. She tells Meg that she thinks it's best if she resigns because she is not going to be able to work properly any more. Meg tells Erica that she's not going, and that she only wants Meg to resign to cover up the fact that Bea was allowed back with the other women too soon. She says that if she's sacked, she'll tell the whole world why.
Meg is walking through the corridors crying. The women pass her but no conversation is made. The closing credits are shown over the scene and a very peaceful instrumental version of the theme tune is played.

A picture of Wentworth at night [ ] is shown at the end of the closing credits.
Trivia
Officer Yates tells Greg that Bill was stabbed at the security gates on the first floor. Therefore we can assume that the whole of H-Block must be on this floor.
