Episode Details
Lynn is brushing her hair in her cell when Bea walks in. Bea tells her that she is looking really nice. Lynn tells her that she thought that the last week would never end and is looking forward to some time away from the prison. Bea tells her that she been given a lot of chances and screwed them all up and that if she messes up again she will have Bea to deal with. Lynn tells her not to worry as she isn't going to go running off again. Bea tells her that there are a lot of women who would love to be in Lynn's position, Lynn makes a joke about it being Doreen and Lizzie and Bea tells her that they haven't got a hope in hell of getting out on work release but its nice to let them think that they have as it relieves the boredom. Bea then warns Lynn that she doesn't want her to mess it up for the others. Lynn tells her that she won't do anything and Bea leaves her cell.
Lynn picks up her bag and coat and walks out of her cell, down the corridor and says goodbye to Doreen and Lizzie. Doreen tells Lizzie that she is lucky and she wishes that it was her that they were letting out. Lizzie tells her not to worry as they will get out on work release and Doreen tells her that she is alright before adding that they won't let her out as she is still waiting to find out what they are going to do with her for running away with Frankie. Lizzie tells her that she had forgotten all about it. Doreen tells her that she wishes she had as it's bad enough being inside without having that hanging over her head. Lizzie asks her what she thinks she will get and Doreen tells her that she doesn't know and thinks she is lucky that she was spotted before they stole from the shop as she would have been charged with armed robbery as well. She tells Lizzie that the police man did her a favour. Lizzie agrees but says that he didn't go Franky any favours and Doreen agrees with her. Doreen then gets angry as no-one would allow them to go to Franky's funeral. Lizzie tells her that they probably thought that they would run off and it would have been funny if they had.
Lizzie then asks her if they are supposed to forgive us our trespasses as it says in The Lord's Prayer. Doreen asks her what she is going on about. Lizzie tells her that she was wondering what you would get for robbing a convent and Doreen tells her that with her luck they would throw the book at her. Lizzie comments that it could be the Bible and they laugh. Lizzie reminds her about the forms Dr. Miller told them that they could get from Mrs Davidson. Doreen tells her that Mrs Davidson won't sign anything for them. Lizzie tells her that if they can get into Mrs Davidson's office and take some of the forms then Doreen could forge her signature. Doreen tells her that it sounds very risky. Lizzie tells her that they can only give it a try and she has picked enough locks in her time. Doreen tells her that she is in enough trouble without getting into anymore. Lizzie tells her that if she is scared she will do it herself. Doreen agrees to helping her but tells her that she isn't pinching the forms for herself she is just helping Lizzie out. Lizzie is delighted and tells her not to worry as it will work. Doreen asks her how she is going to get them into the office and comments that it will take a long time to forge her signature. Lizzie tells her that she has a plan but needs Bea's help. Lizzie tells her that she will make it work.
Vera is in reception sorting through some paperwork when Meg brings Anne Yates in. Meg tells Vera that she needs to check in her friend and Anne tells Vera that she has missed her. Vera tells her that she has heard enough and to stand on the line. Anne comments that Vera is always the professional screw and wasn't so high and mighty at Anne's party a few nights before. Vera asks her for her name and Anne is unimpressed. Vera tells her that she knows the procedure as well as her and that she is a prisoner and will be treated like one. Anne moves and tells Vera that she will play it her way and answers the question. Vera tells her that she was found guilty of possessing and trafficking in prohibited drugs and asks her if it's correct. Anne tells her that it is. Vera tells her that she has been sentenced to 6 months imprisonment and asks her if it's correct. Anne tells her that it is. Vera tells her to put her bag on the desk and strip off in the cubicle. Anne does as she is told and Meg follows her. Anne asks her how George is and Meg tells her to get moving. Meg tells Vera that it's going to be difficult with Anne being in Wentworth. Vera tells her that there is no need to gloat as it is going to be difficult for them all. Meg tells her that she wasn't gloating as she didn't mean it would be difficult just for Vera. Vera tells her that she didn't know that Anne was doing anything illegal and as soon as she found out she stopped seeing her and her friends. Vera starts checking through Anne's bag and Meg apologises. Vera tells her that she doesn't have to justify herself to Meg or anyone else. Meg tells her that she wasn't asking her too. Vera tells her to mind her own business. Meg tells her that she will go and check the cell allocation with the Governor and leaves.
In Erica's office, Erica tells Meg to move Catherine to the 3rd floor and put Anne in a single cell on the 2nd floor. Meg tells her that it seems strange that Anne has been sent to Wentworth where she worked as an officer and asks why she hasn't been sent somewhere else. Erica tells her that it wouldn't make any difference as there would be someone who would know her wherever she went. Erica comments that the women will make her life unbearable. Meg agrees, telling her that it will be if Bea finds out that she is in for dealing in drugs as Bea hasn't forgotten about Sally. Erica tells her that she doesn't want anyone to find out why Anne is in prison as she doesn't want the same thing to happen to her as did to Barbara. Erica tells her that she has a good idea about who told Bea about Barbara and will be mentioning it to Vera especially. Meg tells her that she wouldn't tell Bea about Yates and that Yates would have the sense to keep quiet. Erica tells her that she would hope so, as she puts a file in her filing cabinet and locks it.
Vera escorts Anne to her single cell and Anne tells her that she could have found her own way to her cell. Vera tells her that it is normal procedure to take a new prisoner to her cell. Anne tells her that she is dedicated and that her whole life revolves around working in the prison and that she would be lost if she couldn't work in the prison. Anne tells her that it would be unfortunate if the Governor found out that she had been hanging out with criminals and ex prison officers. Vera tells her that she had better not tell her and Anne tells her that she hasn't got anything to lose and she has Vera to thank for being inside. Vera tells her that she didn't know. Anne tells her that she must be stupid not to know what was going on as it would have been obvious to anyone else. Vera tells her that if she had known what was going on she wouldn't have got involved with her and George. Anne tells her that she probably wouldn't have done, even though they were trying to help her make something of her life. Vera tells her that she can run her life how she wants as long as she doesn't expect everyone else to follow and tells her that she didn't have anything to do with her being arrested. Anne tells her that she wouldn't want George to get into trouble and tells her that he has probably given Vera special instructions to look after her as he always looks after his friends. Vera tells her that it is her job to protect all of the prisoners. Anne laughs and Vera leaves.
She walks down the corridor, past Doreen and Lizzie, Doreen is singing, they walk past Anne's cell, notice it is her and run off down the corridor. They run into the laundry and tell Bea. Bea tells them that she had better go and welcome her back as she may not remember her after such a long time. Karen asks them why she is so interested in Anne Yates. Lizzie tells her that Anne used to bring drugs in for the girls and reminds her about Sally dying when she arrived. Lizzie tells her that Bea hates pushers and doesn't think Anne will stand a chance if Bea finds out she was the one that brought the drugs in.
Anne is putting away some things in her locker when Bea walks in and tells her that a lot of things have changed since she was last inside, a lot of people have come and gone. Anne agrees. Bea tells her that Marilyn is out and going straight, she's married Eddie. Bea tells her that Franky is dead. Anne tells her that she read about it in the paper. Bea tells her that they also had the Governor's niece in for a while but she got caught smuggling drugs into the prison and locked herself in her cell. Bea asks her what she is in for and Anne tells her that it's for receiving. Bea asks her what she got and Anne tells her that she got 6 months. Bea tells her that they will have plenty of time to catch up and then takes something belonging to Anne, telling her that she needs to get back to work; she is always busy and never gets a minute to herself. Bea tells her that one thing hasn't changed in the prison, she is still in charge. Bea then leaves her cell.
Lynn arrives at work and is greeted by Mrs Grant, who apologises to her for what happened and blames herself. Lynn tells her that it was her own fault for running away like she did. Mrs Grant tells her that she would have done the same thing if it was her as their boss can be cranky. She asks Lynn why she didn't come back earlier and Lynn tells her that she wasn't feeling very well. Mrs Grant sympathises with her when Syd walks over to them and tells them that he doesn't pay them to stand around gossiping. He tells Mrs Grant they might make a profit out of the flowers they sell if she paid as much attention to them as she does to her face. He tells Lynn to display the new seeds that have just arrived. Lynn thanks him for giving her a second chance and he tells her that they can forget it ever happened.
In the laundry, Lizzie asks Bea if she can have a word with her in private. Lizzie tells her that she wants to get out on work release. Bea tells her that she is wasting her time. Lizzie tells Bea the plan that she got to get on work release. Bea tells them her that they are both nuts and Lizzie tells her that she knows it will work; she just needs her to help them get into the office. Bea tells her that she doesn't want to get involved. Lizzie tells her that she knows it will work and Doreen is going to help her. Bea still refuses. Lizzie tells them that you soon find out who your true friends are. Bea tells her that the only way she will help her is if she does something for her. Lizzie asks her what she wants her to do. Bea tells her that she wants her to have a look at one of the files as Vera walks in and asks Lizzie about what she is planning. Lizzie tells her that she wasn't planning anything and Vera separates her from Bea, giving her cleaning duties. Bea tells her to do as she is told. Doreen comments that it isn't fair as Lizzie is old and has a bad heart. Vera tells her that as she is so concerned, she can help her. She tells them to get mops and buckets and start on the 2nd floor. Vera leaves and Doreen comments that she is always throwing her weight around. Lizzie asks Bea why she tried to shut her up. Bea tells her that she done them a favour, which they would see if they weren't so dumb, as she has given them a reason to wander around the corridors and she is sure that the corridor outside the Governor's office is filthy. Lizzie and Doreen smile and run out laughing with Lizzie telling her that she knew her plan would work.
Bea and Karen are in their cell. Bea comments that she is hungry and Karen asks her if she is going to help Lizzie and Doreen to get into the Governor's office. Bea asks her why she shouldn't and Karen tells her that it's a stupid idea as they would never accept a signed form from Lizzie without checking with the Governor first. Bea agrees with her and then Karen asks her why she helping them to get into trouble. Bea tells her that they are going to get caught anyway so it might as well help them to make it happen sooner. She asks Karen if she is worried that it might spoil her chances of getting out. Karen tells her that it isn't that as she may never get out. Karen tells her that it is more likely to happen to her than to Doreen and Lizzie. She tells Karen that she would love to get out of the prison for a few hours a day. Karen comments that it's strange that they sent Anne to serve her time in Wentworth and Bea tells her that it was only a matter of time before they caught up with her as she is bent. Karen tells her not to do anything stupid and Bea tells her not to worry because if she does do anything it will be between Anne and her. Karen comments that she isn't sure that Anne was the one who gave Sally the drugs. Bea tells her that she will find out, which is another reason for helping Doreen and Lizzie. The bell rings and they leave their cell.
Mrs Grant and Lynn are having a break. Mrs Grant is telling Lynn all about her son and how he used to be close friends with Syd's son until he went to University. Mrs Grant comments that she thought that Lynn was a friend of the family. Lynn tells her that Syd and her Dad were in the army together so she never got to meet any of his family and didn't even know he had one. Mrs Grant tells her that Syd used to spoil his son Geoffrey. Mrs Grant comments that her son is a bike mechanic and that her kitchen is always full of spare parts and their house is always filled with the music coming from her daughter's room. She tells Lynn that her Dad probably spoilt her too. Lynn tells her that he used but she doesn't live at home anymore and he tells her that he can't get used to the quiet. She tells Mrs Grant that they live in the country. Mrs Grant asks her if he lives on a farm and Lynn tells her that he does. She tells Lynn that her husband is always talking about moving to the country. She asks Lynn what made her move to Melbourne. Lynn tells her that she wanted to see some of the world as there wasn't much to do on the farm and she had been there all her life. She asks Lynn where she lives and comments that she must be lonely. Lynn tells her that she lives in Vermont and is staying with friends. Mrs Grant invites her round to her house and Lynn tells her that she would love to and then tells her that she needs to get back to work. Mrs Grant tells her not to be too eager as Syd will only take advantage of her.
Lynn finds Mr Butterfield, watering plants, she asks him what she needs to do next and he directs her to sorting out some flowers. She asks him if he is satisfied with her work and he tells her that it is too early to tell but if he isn't he will let her know. She thanks him and he tells her to get on with her work and stop talking to Mrs Grant as much as she does.
Anne is getting some food in the Dining Room; she sits down as Bea and Karen walk in. Bea jumps to the front of the queue and takes a plate of food from one of the women. Bea sits next to Anne and tells her that she hopes that she hasn't forgotten the talk they had that morning. Anne tells her that she has a good memory and Bea is pleased. Bea tells her that she needs her help and tells her that she will want to help as they have to stick together. Anne tells her that she would be foolish to cross her and tells her that she doesn't have to heavy her into anything and reminds her that she did them all favours when she worked at the prison. Bea tells her that she did for a price but won't be able to do anymore as she is in prison with them. Anne tells her that she has friends and could organise something. Bea wonders if there is another bent screw in the prison then tells Anne that she had better not be bringing drugs in as they wouldn't want the women going the same way as Sally did. Anne tells her that she never brought drugs into the prison, apart from the pill for Marilyn. Bea tells her that she hasn't got anything to worry about if that's the closest she ever got to drugs which is good, because it will be much worse for the person that has when she finds out. She tells Anne that she must have a clear conscience as she had nothing to do with drugs and tells her it's a good thing as she would hate it if they didn't get along. She then pushes Anne's food into her lap.
Anne jumps up and points her knife at Bea and tells her to lay off. Vera runs in and asks what's going on. Bea tells her that nothing happened, Anne had an accident and then jumped up and tried to attack Bea. The women all agree with Bea and Vera tells Anne to get cleaned up and have another meal. Anne leaves and Vera tells Bea that she should be in solitary, Bea tells Vera that it should be Anne who is in the pound, Vera tells her to stop playing games as they both know she provoked Anne. Vera tells her that only needs a chance to Bea in solitary and she will be going. Vera then leaves. Bea complains about the fact that the screws always stick together, even though one of them is on the inside.
Vera walks down the corridor and Meg walks up to her and asks her what's going on. Vera tells her that it's Bea Smith, throwing her weight around. Meg asks her if it was to do with Anne and Vera tells her that it was. Meg comments that she didn't waste any time in causing trouble and Vera tells her that they have had trouble between prisoners before and know how to handle it as that is what they are paid for. Vera tells her that Anne will be treated like any other prisoner and her being an ex-officer makes no difference. Vera asks Meg to take over in the Dining Room and she walks off down the corridor.
Anne is cleaning herself up in her cell when Vera walks in. Vera tells her that she thought she would have known better than to cross Bea Smith and Anne tells her that she knows that Bea is out to get her and she did nothing to protect her as she could have been killed. Anne tells her that she had better make a better job of protecting her in future and Vera asks her if she is threatening her. Anne tells her that she isn't, but comments that George did ask her to look after Anne. Vera tells her that Anne is just a prisoner now and nothing else and that she won't stretch any of the rules as a favour to a friend. Anne accuses Vera of being a hard bitch and Vera reprimands her, telling her that whatever she and George have has nothing to do with Anne. Anne tells her that he can't have told Vera about her insurance policy and Vera asks her what she is talking about. Anne tells her that she got to know George and his business very well and before she was arrested she gave a letter to her solicitor containing information on George and his business dealings and that if anything happens to Anne whilst she is on the inside, it will be sent out, which means that Vera won't see George for about 10 years.
Erica is writing at her desk when there is a knock at the door and Vera enters. Vera asks her if she wanted to see her and Erica asks her about the trouble in the Dining Room. Vera tells her that it was nothing that she couldn't handle. Erica asks her if Anne Yates was involved. Vera tells her that she was and that it's because most people remember her from when she was an officer but she has dealt with the situation. Erica asks her how and she tells her that she has arranged for Anne to have all her meals in her cell. Erica tells her that she doesn't think it's a good idea as it will look like they are giving her special treatment and will only make matters worse. Vera asks her what else they can do. Erica tells her that she might be right in what she has done already as they can't move her to another block and even moving her to another prison would be pointless as someone would remember her. Erica tells her that she hopes the women don't find out that she was responsible for Sally Lee's death. Vera comments that they never proved that Anne was responsible. Erica agrees, telling Vera that if they had proved it, Anne would have been back inside a lot sooner, but all the women need is a suspicion. Erica gives Vera the orders for tomorrow and comments that Susan is to appear in court. Vera tells her that she will tell Susan when she has finished with the psychiatrist.
Dr. Weissman, Jean and Susan are in Jean's office. He asks Susan why she thinks she steals things from shops. Susan tells him that she does it to get attention from her husband. The psychiatrist comments that she refused to give her name when she was arrested and she tells him that if she did, she would have had a $20 fine and telling off from the magistrate, by not giving her name, people have to take notice. He asks her if she broke bail for the same reason and she agrees. He asks Susan if she has ever thought about getting help from someone like him and she asks him why she should as she is telling him things not the other way round. He thanks her for talking to them and then she leaves.
Jean asks him what she thinks and he tells her that Susan is obviously disturbed. Jean asks him if he will recommend treatment and he tells her that he will but that he can't insist on her being treated. He tells her that she will probably get left off with a fine and then there will be nothing else that he can do. Jean asks him if he will recommend to the judge that she receives treatment. He tells her that he might not as she would be much better of receiving marriage counselling with her husband. Jean comments that he has only seen her once and was quite calm; she tells him that Susan can be violent at times. He tells her that he has read the report and Jean tells him that she might be trying to hoodwink him. Jean tells him that he isn't taking it very seriously and he agrees, telling her that if they recommended everyone they thought of being mentally ill to undergo treatment, then things would get very messy. He tells Jean that she shows different signs of paranoia and that she probably wouldn't like to be forced to be treated for it.
Susan walks into the recroom and sits down. Bea asks her if she has been to see the shrink and Susan tells her that she has. Bea asks her if he said anything and she tells him that she didn't. Bea comments that they never do and that they are useless, apart from the fact that it is a chance to see a bloke. She asks Susan if she wants a game of cards and Susan agrees. Bea tells Doreen and Lizzie that they are playing cards against Susan and her and Doreen complains. Bea asks her if she wants her to help them the next day and they sit down. Bea grabs a magazine and throws it at Anne who is reading a book and tells her to read it as it more her level. Vera walks in and tells Susan that she is due in court tomorrow and that she has to report to reception by 9. Bea tells her that she will probably be leaving them after tonight and that she will be able to go straight home with her husband. Susan agrees and Bea comments that it's a pity that everyone else has to miss out and looks at Vera. Vera tells Anne that she will be having all her meals in her cell as they don't want a repeat of what happened earlier. Bea tells her that there won't be any more trouble as she and Anne understand each other. Anne tells her that they understand each other perfectly.
The bell goes and Anne is sat in her cell when Meg brings a prisoner in with her breakfast the next morning. Anne tells her that she shouldn't have brought it in and Meg tells her that if it was up to her then she wouldn't have. She sends the prisoner out and tells Anne that she thought that someone who had worked in the prison would have had more sense than to risk being put inside. Anne tells her that she didn't know that she was going to get caught. Meg tells her that she has made everything twice as hard for the rest of them. Meg tells her that the Governor has assigned her to the garden so she is to keep her mouth shut and stay out of Bea's way. Anne tells her that she isn't worried about Bea Smith as the officers are there to protect her. Meg leaves her cell and walks down the corridor.
Lynne is signing out in reception and Jean tells her that she will pick her up later from the nursery. Lynne tells her that she will be there and Jean warns her that she had better be. Meg walks into reception and comments on how early Jean is. Jean tells her that she wants to have a word with Susan before she goes to court, just as Susan walks into reception. Jean asks Susan if she can have a word with her. Vera tells Jean that she has to deliver her to the police as they are waiting outside for her. Jean tells Vera that it won't take long. Jean tells her that Dr. Wiseman thinks she needs psychiatric help. Susan asks her if she has to and Jean tells her that they can't force her. Susan tells her that she won't. Jean tells her that the judge might be more lenient if he thinks she is trying to get help. Susan asks her what will happen to her children as her husband's solicitor will think that she is too crazy to look after her own children. Jean tells her that there isn't anything wrong with it and Susan tells her that she won't agree to it, as it might jeopardise her chances of keeping her children. Susan then tells Vera that she is ready and Vera leads her out of the building.
Anne is eating her meal in her cell with her back to the door; Bea appears and sneaks up on her. Anne asks her what she wants and Bea tells that she has heard that she is working in the garden, Anne asks her why she it's important and Bea tells her that she remembers her telling them how helpful she was when she was a screw and thought that she might like to help them again. Anne asks her what she will have to do and Bea tells her that all she has to do is keep an eye on the gate and tell them when the Governor leaves and comes back. Anne asks her what she wants to know for and Bea laughs, telling her that she doesn't trust her enough to tell her, but things might change if everything works out alright. Bea leaves Anne's cell.
Later that day, Anne is out in the garden and Erica walks past her, towards the gate. Anne stops her and asks her if she can make an appointment to see her. Erica reminds her of the rules about appointments being lodged with duty officer before 9 a.m. Anne tells her that it is important and Erica asks her what it's about. Anne tells her that she is concerned about being given her meals in her cell as the other women already resent her and she doesn't want it to look like she is being given special treatment. Erica tells her that it is for her own protection. Anne tells her that she realises what it's for but thinks that they will accept her more if she eats with them. Erica tells her that she could be right and tells Anne that she will be back at 11:30 a.m. and to go and see her then. Anne thanks her and Erica carries on walking out of the grounds. Anne tells another prisoner that she will be gone for two hours and she bangs on the wall. One of the women on the inside of the prison listens to the banging and then walks off.
The women are working in the laundry. Bea comments that it gets boring after a while and Karen tells her that it is monotonous. Bea tells her that she is going to be out within a year. Karen tells her that she is not looking for to folding 100 sheets everyday for the next year and that it is a lot of laundry. Bea tells her that she wouldn't know as she was never very good at sums. Bea asks her what she is going to do when she gets out and asks her if she is going to back to teaching. Karen tells her that she couldn't which is fair enough but she misses teaching the little ones. Bea tells her that she could always raise her own. Karen tells her that she would have to find a husband first and isn't sure that she would want to do it as it wouldn't be easy after being on the inside. The prisoner who was listening at the wall tells Bea that the Governor has just left and will be gone for two hours.
Lizzie and Doreen are mopping the floors, Bea comes out into the corridor and tells them that they have got two hours and to be careful. Doreen and Lizzie walk off down the corridor and approach the Governor's office. Lizzie tells Doreen to wait and watch and be quiet. Lizzie walks up to Erica's office and tries to pick the lock, Doreen walks up the corridor with the mops and buckets and tells Lizzie that there is a screw coming. They start to mop the floors again. The Officer asks them who told them to clean the floor and they both reply with different officers' names. Doreen tells her that Miss Bennett told Mrs Jackson to tell them and the Officer tells them not to take all day about doing it and tells Lizzie to clean herself after she has cleaned the floor. She walks off and Lizzie picks the lock to the Governor's office and they walk in. Doreen asks Lizzie where the forms are and Lizzie tells her that they are probably in the filing cabinet; she tries to open it and tells Doreen that it's locked. Doreen tells her to unlock it. They break into the filing cabinet and pick out a work release form. Doreen tells Lizzie to listen for the screws as she turns on the lamp on the Governor's desk and puts the paper into the typewriter and begins to type, spelling Lizzie's surname incorrectly [ ]. After a while, Lizzie tells Doreen to hurry up and Doreen tells her to be quiet as she is trying to concentrate. She types a bit more and then pulls out the paper and tells Lizzie she is finished. Lizzie tells her to be quiet as footsteps are heard outside. Meg knocks on the door as an officer walks past her, telling her that the Governor isn't back. Meg tells her to tell the Governor that Susan Rice got off with a $200 fine and a 6 month good behaviour bond and comments that she won't be coming back. They walk off and Lizzie breathes a sigh of relief, telling Doreen that they have gone. Doreen suggests that they leave the office and she will forge Mrs Davidson's signature later. Lizzie tells her that they can't leave as she promised Bea she would find her a file. Doreen complains, telling Lizzie that she should have done it earlier and Lizzie tells her that she would have if she hadn't been listening out for the screws. Doreen tells her to hurry up or they will get caught. Lizzie tells her to stop worrying as she opens one of the drawers in the filing cabinet. Doreen tells her to hurry up. Lizzie looks through the files and grabs one. Doreen tells her that they won't be doing any work release if they get caught and they leave the office, close the door and run off down the corridor.
Mrs Grant walks in on Lynn working hard in the nursery and tells her to slow down as Sid won't thank her for working so hard. Lynn tells her that she just wants to get it finished. Mrs Grant tells her that she is going to take a break and sits down with a cigarette. She tells Lynn that she could murder a cup of tea and Lynn tells her that doing the kind of work they do makes you thirsty. Mrs Grant asks her to go round to her place for a cup of tea after they have finished work as she doesn't live far. Lynn thanks her and tells her that she can't as she has to be home early. Mrs Grant comments that she probably has a date and asks her to come over the next night and meet her son. Lynn tells her that she can't make it that night either. Mrs Grant asks her when she can make it and Lynn tells her that she can't at the moment. Mrs Grant gets angry and Lynn tells her that it's nothing personal. Mrs Grant asks her why she can't make it as she thinks it is personal.
Jean is sat in her office when Lizzie walks in, asking to join the work release program. Jean tells her that it is going to be difficult as it is only 2 months ago since she tried to escape. Lizzie tells her that she wouldn't do it again. Jean tells her that it would be difficult to find her a suitable job with her heart condition and Lizzie tells her that she can manage. Lizzie tells her that she is used to cooking, washing and scrubbing as she has done it all her life. Jean tells her that if she is that keen then she should talk to the Governor as she will have to get her permission first. Lizzie tells her that she has and hands her the work release form. Jean reads it and asks Lizzie if Mrs Davidson made it out herself and Lizzie tells her that she did. Jean asks her if she typed it herself and Lizzie tells her that she doesn't know who typed it. Jean tells her that it must have been one of the new typists as there are quite a few [ ] spelling mistakes . Lizzie tries to take the form from Jean, telling her that she will get it done properly and Jean tells her that she will hang on to it and take it to Mrs Davidson, to see what sort of suitable job she had in mind. Lizzie looks really annoyed and Jean sends her out.
Lizzie walks into the laundry and hits Doreen, who asks her why she has just hit her. Lizzie tells her that it's because she can't spell. She tells Bea that Doreen mucked it up again. Bea asks her what has happened and Lizzie tells her that Doreen has mucked up her release form and Miss Vernon was onto it straight away. Bea laughs and Karen comments that they can't have expected to get away with it. Lizzie asks her why not and Bea tells her that they were bound to check up on it and laughs again. Bea tells her that she needn't worry as she will only be put in solitary. Lizzie blames Doreen and she tells Lizzie that she isn't the one who needs to worry as she has a bad heart. Lizzie tells her not to lag and Bea tells her that she better hadn't. Bea hands Lizzie the file from underneath a sheet and tells Lizzie to get rid of it and put it back where it belongs. Lizzie tells her that she can't do it as it's too dangerous. Bea tells her that that is her problem as she was only told to look at it not pinch it. Lizzie asks Bea to get rid of it and Bea asks her how she is going to do it. Doreen suggests burying it in the garden and Lizzie agrees. Bea smiles and agrees.
Lynn is still working at the nursery. Mrs Grant walks in and Lynn tells her that not talking to each other is just stupid. She tells Lynn that she didn't think she was good enough to talk to. Lynn tells her she is wrong and Mrs Grant questions her about what's wrong. Lynn says nothing and then Mrs Grant tells her that she can't even give her an answer. Sid asks them what's wrong and Mrs Grant tells her that nothing is wrong. She tells Lynn that she is a stuck madam, who is as bad as Sid and his son. Lynn tells her that it isn't because she doesn't want to go to her house it's just that she can't. Mrs Grant asks her why she can't and Lynn tells her that she has to get back to the prison. Mrs Grant asks her if she is a criminal and Lynn tells her that she is at Wentworth Detention Centre. Mrs Grant shouts and tells Sid to come over. He does and she asks him if he knew that Lynn was a criminal. Lynn tells him that she told Mrs Grant and he tells her that she had no right too. Mrs Grant tells him that she isn't working alongside a criminal and he tells her that she can leave. Mrs Grant tells him that she can't speak to him in the way that he is and he asks her why he can't. She tells him that she has worked at the nursery for 15 years. Sid questions how much work she has actually done, telling her that all she has ever done is talked and upset any of the staff that have worked for him. Mrs Grant tells her that he will go and he tells her too. Lynn tells him that she didn't want that to happen and he tells her to keep out of it as it best that she does leave, as all she ever did was talk. He advises Lynn to keep her mouth shut in future.
Lizzie is in Erica's office with Vera and Jean. Lizzie tells Erica that she broke into the Governor's office herself and forged Erica's signature as a joke. Erica tells her that trying to escape is no joke. Lizzie tells her that she wasn't, all she wanted was work release. Erica tells her that she should have applied through the proper channels as what she has done proves that she can't be trusted on the outside or the inside. Erica tells her that if she had been anyone else then she would have been in solitary. Lizzie asks her about her heart. Erica tells her that she is well aware of her condition as that is the only thing saving her. She tells Lizzie that she will lose all of her privileges for a month, including cigarettes. Lizzie tells her that she can't live without her fags and Erica tells her that it will do her heart good. Erica tells her that she can leave the office or go to solitary. Lizzie leaves and Erica asks Vera to arrange for a new security lock to be put on her door. Vera advises her to get a new lock on the filing cabinet too. Vera tells her that she is surprised that Lizzie didn't strip the room and asks her if anything else is missing. Erica tells her that she hasn't noticed anything but will check and let her know later. Vera leaves. Erica thanks Jean for telling her about it all. Jean asks her if she was telling the truth about breaking in on her own. Erica tells her that she doubts it and comments that she couldn't have forged her signature. She goes on to say that it was probably Doreen, but they will never get them to admit it. Jean comments that they stick together. Jean asks her if she has heard about Susan Rice. Erica tells her that she been released on a good behaviour bond. Jean asks if the Judge recommended psychiatric treatment and Erica tells her that he didn't. Jean tells her that she won't stay out of trouble without it and wonders whether she should get in touch with Susan's G.P. and discuss it with him. Jean asks her what she thinks and Erica apologises. She notices that one of the drawers on the filing cabinet is open. She gets up and looks through the drawer. Jean gets up and asks her what's wrong. Erica tells her that Yates' personal file is missing.
Bea is waiting in the corridor outside Anne's cell, when she comes walking down the corridor and walks into her cell. Bea hands her the paper and tells her to get rid of it for her. Anne asks her what it is and Bea tells her that it's something she doesn't want everyone to see and wants her to get rid of it and bury it in the garden.
Bea walks away and Anne takes the paper into her cell, opens it up and her file falls onto her bed. She opens it, realises that it's hers and sighs.
