PREVIOUSLY.......................................

Ruth: You're going to help me make Ferguson pay for what she did to me.

Roo: I told you I'm not doing nothin'.

Ruth: I'm sure I can convince you to change your mind.

Ruth pulls out a gun as she says this.

Joan and Laura are lying on the bottom bunk together talking.

Laura: I'm so scared Joan. What if word gets to the women here about what we've done.

Joan: Don't worry Laura. I won't let anything happen to you. I promise you.

Laura: But we lagged on several of the women. They're not going to let that lie.

Joan: But we had to stop the riot. A lot of people could have been killed.

Laura: I know we had to do it, I'm just scared they'll come after us somehow.

Joan: I've already promised no harm will come to you, and I always keep my promises!

Laura: Oh I'm so glad I've got you Joan. I love you.

Joan: I love you too Laura.

Rodney is lying on his sofa, surrounded by empty beer cans when there is a knock at the door. Rodney staggers to open it, and Vic Lester is stood there with 2 heavies behind him.

Vic: Well you're a tough man to get hold of. I've been trying to contact you for days.

Rodney: Sorry, I haven't been well. I lost my job last week and things have been building up.

Vic: Well I am sorry to hear that. Unfortunately though, Business is business and we need to collect a payment from you now.

Rodney: But I haven't got it. I can get it though, just give me a couple of days.

Vic: Sorry Rodney. I need a grand off you today.

Rodney: A grand! But that's a quarter of what I owe.

Vic: Actually that's about a tenth of what you owe, if you were to pay me the full amount now.

Rodney: But that's daylight robbery.

Vic: That's rising interest rates for you. Now let me have a grand and I'll be on my way.

Rodney: I can't. I'm sorry, you'll have to come back in a few days.

Vic: Not good enough.

One of the heavies grabs Rodney's right hand and forces it face down on the table and forces his fingers apart. The other one produces a hammer.

Vic: This is your last chance to cough up.

Rodney: I can't. Please don't hurt me, I can get it I just need more time.

Vic nods his head to the heavy, and the hammer is raised back and then slammed down...... We hear Rodney scream.

Adrian looks over to Marty, asleep in his bed. He gets out of bed and climbs in with Marty, putting his arm around him. Marty doesn't wake up. Just then, Meg knocks on the door and comes in with 2 cups of coffee. She drops them in shock when she sees the two of them in bed together. Marty wakes up at this point, and it is difficult to see who is the most shocked.................................................

EPISODE 770

Meg quickly closes the door and goes out. Marty jumps out of bed and asks Adrian what the hell he was doing.

Adrian: I'm sorry, I thought you felt the same way after the talk we had last night.

Marty: Well I don't. Hell, I'm not gay.

Adrian: You don't have to say it like its such a dirty word.

Marty: Does your dad know?

Adrian: No, but he'll be cool about it.

Marty: You'd better hope he is. Oh hell I'd better explain to mum.

Meg is just saying goodbye to Tristian, who is off to work, when Marty comes down.

Tristian: Morning Marty. Is that lazy son of mine still in bed? Anyway have to go, see you later.

Meg: Bye darling.

Tristian goes out of the door. Meg starts putting the breakfast plates in the sink.

Marty: Mum, about what you just saw.

Meg: It's none of my business. I would have appreciated a warning though.

Adrian appears at this point.

Adrian: I'm sorry Mrs. Morris. You won't tell dad will you?

Meg: I think you should tell him.

Adrian: I will.

Marty: Mum. I'm not gay.

Meg: Marty, I really don't mind. Obviously I'd have liked grandchildren at some point, but you can't have everything.

Adrian: Marty's not gay. I read the signals wrong, it was all my fault.

Meg: I see. Well I can't say it's not a relief. Not that I've got anything against gay people.

Adrian: I'll find somewhere else to stay if you like.

Meg: There's no need of that. I'm sure Marty's got no objections with you staying in his room.

Marty: Well I don't know...

Meg: Oh come on Marty. It's only for a few nights.

Marty: Oh all right, but just keep to your side of the room, OK?

Adrian: Sure. Thanks guys, and I will tell dad. I might leave it till after the wedding though.

Meg: Whatever you wish. I certainly won't tell him.

Mick O'Brien is in his flat when there is a knock at the door. He answers it, and can't believe his eyes when Rodney is stood there.

Mick: What the hell do you want?

Rodney: I need your help. I'm in real trouble.

Mick: How did you find out where I lived?

Rodney: You weren't too hard to find.

Mick notices Rodney's hands are all bandaged up, and asks what happened.

Rodney: I owe some blokes a lot of money, and they want it now if you know what I mean.

Mick: Well I haven't got any dough. I wouldn't give it you if I had.

Rodney: What about that two grand you stole off me?

Mick: I don't know what you're on about.

Rodney: Oh come on, I know it was you. I had an informer in the prison, she heard it from Chrissie.

Mick: An informer ay?

Rodney: Yeah, and I'll tell you who it was, and I'll go and get Chrissie off the hook for bashing me, if you give it me back.

Mick: I need that money for when we get Elizabeth back.

Rodney: Please. I need to get out of the country. These thugs will never leave me alone else.

Mick
(thinks for a minute): OK, but you've got to get Chrissie off the hook first.

Rodney: No way. You'll never give me the money if I do that, I want the dough first.

Mick: Wake up Australia. I didn't come down in the last shower.

Rodney: Well give me half the money now, and the other half when I've got Chrissie off.

Mick: Sounds fair enough, but I want the name of your lagger too.

Rodney: Amanda Spencer.

Mick: Right I'll let Chrissie know.

Rodney: Can I have half the money then?

Mick: Hold your horses, I haven't got it here. You'll have to wait till I've been to the bank.

Rodney: The longer it takes, then the longer it will be before Chrissie is out.

Mick: Well what are we waiting for then?

He grabs his coat and ushers Rodney into his car. They drive off together, but a man in a car over the road is watching them, and he follows.

Joan and Laura are lying on the bottom bunk together, asleep. Officer Hedges comes in and tells them its their turn for a shower.

Off. Hedges: Sorry to disturb you and all that.

Laura: Please don't say anything.

Off. Hedges: The governor would split you up for sure if he found out you were on together, but I might be able to be persuaded to keep my mouth shut, for a price.

Joan: Alright. How much do you want?

Off Hedges: Twenty bucks a week should cover it.

Laura: I can't get that much in here.

Joan: You'll get your money.

Off. Hedges: Good girl. For that I may even keep Ruth Ballinger away from you.

Joan: Ballinger? You mean she's in Wentworth?

Off. Hedges: Next door in fact, and she's really got it in for you.

Joan looks worried.

The women in H-Block are in the shower block. Kath is talking about her parole.

Cindy: God, can't you change the record. They'll never let a kid killer like you out anyway.

Su: Shut up Simpson.

Cindy: I was only...

Su: I said shut up.

Su goes right up close to her as she says this. Cindy backs down. Amanda just observes and keeps quiet.

Chrissie: When is your parole anyway Kath?

Kath: The day after tomorrow. I reckon Cindy could be right though.

Su: Cindy's never right.

Kath: At least Charlotte's managed to find me a job, even if it is only temporary.

Pat: Oh come on you lot. You'll miss breakfast if you don't hurry up.

Su: Yes Mrs. Slattery. Promotion's really turned you into a grouch you know.

Chrissie: I can't say I noticed the difference.

Pat: Oh just hurry up. I won't tell you again.

The women all move out. Amanda and Cindy are the last two in there.

Amanda: Have you sold the rest of that stuff yet?

Cindy: Yeah, and the women want more. When can you get it?

Amanda: Don't worry, I'll get it soon. Now where's my dough?

Cindy: It's in my cell, I'll get it to you later.

Amanda: Well make sure you do, and I'll be counting it too.

Chrissie has been called to Meg's office. Marty has escorted her.

Meg: Sit down Chrissie.

Chrissie: Ta Miss.

Meg: Now Chrissie. Mr. Adams has, for some reason unbeknown to us all, been to the department and got you off the charge of assaulting him.

Chrissie: Are you serious? That's fantastic.

Marty doesn't look too pleased.

Chrissie: Did he say who did it?

Meg: Yes, but he doesn't wish to lay charges against the girl involved, so you can tell Su not to worry.

Chrissie: Oh, that's good. 'Ere, I wonder why he did it.

Meg: Well the fact is he has, and you will be up before the parole board the day after tomorrow.

Chrissie: Hey, that's the same day as Kath. We could get out together.

Meg: There's still the matter of your attempted escape to explain to the parole board.

Chrissie: Oh yeah. Damn, and I really thought I was getting out for a minute.

Meg: I wouldn't worry too much. With the time you've already served, and the fact that you were deeply worried about Elizabeth at the time, I'm sure we can get around that.

Chrissie: Thanks Mrs. Morris. We've always said you're the best screw that Wentworth ever had.

Meg: Yes, thank you Chrissie. You may go now.

Chrissie: Yes Mrs. Morris, and thanks again.

Marty stays behind for a minute.

Marty: You can't be serious. Do you really think she's served enough time for killing dad?

Meg: Come on Marty. I thought you'd got over that now.

Marty: It doesn't mean I want his killer to walk free. She hasn't even served ten years yet.

Meg: Please Marty don't make waves. Just accept things the way they are.

Marty: Don't worry I won't do anything. To be honest I'll be glad to see the back of her.

Marty goes out and bumps into Tristian on the way in.

Tristian: And how's my gorgeous bride to be?

Meg: Tristian! What a lovely surprise. What are you doing here?

Tristian: I've come to take my sexy fiancé to lunch, what else?

Meg: Oh I'm sorry but I've got a ton of work to do here.

Tristian: Surely you can be spared for half an hour.

Meg: Alright I'll get my coat.

Tristian: How's Marty getting on with Adrian?

Meg: Yes, they're getting to know each other. Why do you ask?

Tristian: No reason. I really wish Adrian would find himself a girlfriend. I'm getting quite worried about him to tell you the truth.

Meg: I'm sure there's no reason to worry. But would it be so terrible if he wasn't interested in girls?

Tristian: To be frank - yes! I've heard about those navy boys, and I'd disown Adrian if he turned out that way.

Meg: You can't mean that?

Tristian: I do. Anyway, let's go to lunch.

Meg looks slightly concerned.

Su has got a visit from her solicitor, Mr. Knowles.

Su: So, is there any hope at all of me getting off?

Knowles: I'm afraid not. Not after your confession to the police, and with Joyce Pringle's evidence. I'd say you're looking at a hefty addition to your sentence.

Su: Dammit. I'll never get out of this hole. What if you said that I was emotionally unstable after what that bitch did to my daughter?

Knowles: Well yes, we can get your daughter on the stand and that would help. But the court will still rule that the murder was pre-meditated, no matter what the reasons.

Su: Forget it then. I don't want to put Catherine through any more.

Knowles: It may be your only hope of getting anything less than a life sentence.

Su: No. I'll just have to wear it. She's been through enough, and besides....she doesn't even want to know me at the moment, so she's not going to do me any favours.

Knowles: She might, if I go and see her and explain the circumstances.

Su: I don't suppose I've got much choice then have I?

Knowles: Fine. Leave it with me then.

Su: What do you reckon Joyce will get?

Knowles: Well, if her solicitor gets her to plead temporary insanity, then she could get off with a suspended sentence.

Su: Good. There's no way she'd last five minutes in a place like this.

Knowles: Of course her solicitor could get her to say that you threatened her into helping you escape, which won't help your case much.

Su: Great, it just gets better and better!

Amanda spots Charlotte walking down the corridor, whilst doing a pick-up, and waits in one of the cells. She walks out right in front of Charlotte.

Amanda: Hello Charlotte. I need another parcel picking up.

Charlotte: I've already told you, I'm not doing it again.

Amanda: It's only some chocolates and goodies for the girls.

Charlotte: Sorry, I can't help you. I've decided I'm going to tell Judy everything. I'm sure she'll understand.

Amanda: Oh I wouldn't bank on that. Especially when you end up in here for smuggling stuff into the prison.

Charlotte: You wouldn't.

Amanda: Try me.

Charlotte: Oh ok, but this is definitely the last one.

Officer Hedges goes into Ruth and Roo's cell. He goes over to Ruth and they kiss for a moment.

Roo: Don't mind me, I only live here!

Ruth: Not for long if you don't do as I say.

Off. Hedges: Is she not behaving herself Ruth?

Ruth: Oh she's alright Mike. Now, what have you got for me.

Off. Hedges: Well, I've got a real juicy titbit for you this time. But first I want paying.

He undoes his belt. Roo looks away.

Joan is in Les Murray's office, being given a "Welcome to Wentworth talk", in true army style.

Les: I realise you're not exactly unfamiliar to Wentworth, but this time you're taking the orders and not giving them.

Joan: With all due respect I think I know that governor.

Les: Please don't be insolent. You wouldn't like to spend your first week here in solitary would you?

Joan: No Sir. I apologise.

Les: Fine. Well I need not remind you that any breach of the rules whatsoever will carry a lengthy stay in solitary. You may have realised that I am of the old school Ferguson, and I run a tight ship here.

Joan: Yes Sir.

Les: Alright that will be all. Send Roberts in please.

Joan goes out and Laura is waiting in the corridor.

Joan: You've got to go in now.

Laura: What's he like?

Joan: He likes to throw his weight around, but he seems quite harmless really.

Back in Ruth and Roo's cell, Ruth and Officer Hedges are adjusting their clothing.

Ruth: Ok this had better be good.

Off. Hedges: Well who do you think Joanie's sharing a cell with?

Ruth: The queen of sheba?

Off. Hedges: No. It's her latest girlfriend, that's who. And they seem very serious, I'm sure Joan would be devastated if anything were to happen to her.

Ruth smiles.

Ruth: I like it. We hit Ferguson right where it hurts. That's even better than killing her.

Off. Hedges: I even let it slip that you were here, so she's probably waiting for something to happen.

Ruth: Good. Let's make her sweat a bit, then we go in for the kill. Oh dear, what an unfortunate turn of phrase.

Officer Hedges starts to laugh.

Judy and Helen are sat on the sofa discussing Helen's stalker.

Judy: I really think he's got bored of you and moved onto somebody else.

Helen: Gee thanks Jude, am I that easy to forget?

Judy: You know what I mean, you haven't seen or heard from him for days now. I think he's probably got the message.

Helen: Yeah you're probably right. Perhaps I'll go back to my flat later.

Judy: You know I'm not trying to get rid of you. I just think that if you stay cooped up much longer you'll go mad.

Merle comes running in with her Captain Marvellous cape on.

Merle: Captain Marvellous here to save the day.

Helen: Hey Merle. Are you going to Wentworth to meet Kath. She's getting out today you know.

Judy: Helen. We don't know for definite she's getting out.

Helen: She'll be alright. Mrs. Morris told Charlotte it was a dead cert.

Judy: That isn't exactly what she said.

Merle: Is that true? Is Kath coming out today?

Judy: Well hopefully Merle.

Merle: I have to go and meet her. I'd better get to the bus stop.

Judy: Relax Merle, I'll drive you to the bus stop. I would take you to Wentworth myself but I've got a lot of paperwork to do this afternoon.

Merle: That's ok, let's go.

Judy: Will you be alright Helen?

Helen: Sure, you go.

Chrissie is seeing the parole board in Meg's office. Janet Walsh is present.

Chairman: I understand that last time you were released on parole you tried to skip the state, Miss. Latham.

Chrissie: Yes your honour. That was a long time ago though, and I've changed a lot since then. I promise you I'm a different person now.

Chairman: Mmm.

The parole board talk quietly to each other.

Meg: Chrissie's record has been excellent lately Sir, and she is planning on getting married if she is to be released.

Chairman: To an ex-criminal I understand.

Meg: Yes, but I know Mick, and he's a totally reformed character.

Chairman: Have you got anything to add, Miss. Walsh?

Janet: Well Chrissie has been better behaved of late. Of course there was that business of the attempted escape a few months back.

Chairman: Yes of course. I realise Mr. Adams has cleared Latham of assaulting him.

Chrissie: Well it wasn't me your honour. He'd already been bashed when I got to reception.

Chairman: Yet you didn't attempt to get any help for him. Plus the fact that you should never have been in reception in the first place.

Chrissie: I was worried about my daughter, I wasn't thinking straight your honour.

Meg: You have my report on the incident Sir.

Chairman: Ah yes. I think we need to discuss this further before we reach a decision. Latham may as well go back to her work in the meantime.

Chrissie's face drops.

Meg: Very well, come along Chrissie.

Officer Hedges enters Joan and Laura's cell.

Off. Hedges: There's an hour's recreation time if you want it.

Laura: What, with the other women?

Off. Hedges: Yes. There will be an officer on guard at all times, but its up to you. You can either go there or stay locked up in your cell.

Laura: I'll stay here then.

Off. Hedges: Very well.

Joan: Just a minute. I'd like to go please.

Laura: But Joan, it could be dangerous.

Joan: Tsk, that lot don't scare me.

Off. Hedges: OK, what about you Roberts?

Laura: I'm staying here.

Off. Hedges: Suit yourself.

He takes Joan off and locks the door behind him. Laura lays on the bed looking worried.

Chrissie is taken back to the laundry by Pat.

Su: What happened?

Chrissie: They want to discuss it further before they reach a decision. What that really means is that they don't think I should get my parole.

Su: Now don't jump to conclusions. They'd have told you there and then if it was definitely a no.

Chrissie: You reckon?

Pat: Alright, back to work ladies.

Pat leaves.

Amanda: How did Kath go?

Chrissie: I don't know, I haven't seen her. She was seen before me so if she's not back here then she must have got her parole.

Amanda: Surely they'd have let her say goodbye to her mates first.

Su: Depends who was checking her out.

Amanda: Well I'm going back to the cell to see if she's still in there.

Amanda is about to go through the gate when Marty comes in with Kath.

Marty: Where are you going Spencer?

Amanda: To the loo.

Marty: Don't you want to say goodbye to Kath first?

The women start cheering for Kath. Then Meg appears.

Meg: Chrissie....

Chrissie: I knew it, they've turned me down haven't they? Bastards.

Meg: Well I wouldn't let them hear you say that or they'll change their minds about letting you out.

Chrissie: You mean....? Bloody hell, I'm getting out.

Meg: Yes, well done Chrissie you got your parole.

Chrissie: I don't believe it.

Chrissie and Kath say their goodbyes before being led out.

Su: It's sure going to be quiet in here now.

Amanda: Yes. I'm really going to miss them.

Cindy: Good riddance I say.

Su / Amanda: Oh shut up Simpson!

Joan is taken to the J-Block recreation room, which isn't dissimilar to the H-Block one. There are several other women there, including Ruth and Roo.

Ruth: Well well well, if it isn't Miss Ferguson. Been a naughty girl have you?

Joan: So it's true. They do let scum like you in here.

Ruth: Now now Joanie. You're on our side of the bars now.

Roo: Yeah, Freak!

All the women start chanting: "Freak, Freak, Freak, Freak, Freak......."

Judy gets home and calls out for Helen. She is surprised when nobody answers. Then she sees a note on the kitchen table which reads: "You were right Jude, I've moved back to my flat. Seeya soon. Helen x." Judy smiles and puts the note down. Charlotte comes in and Judy asks her if she's ok.

Charlotte: Yeah I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?

Judy: No reason, just that you've been quiet for days now and it's not like you.

Charlotte: Well I'm sorry, can't a girl have an off week?

Judy: Sure, if that's all it is.

Charlotte: It is. I've got to go out.

Judy: But you only just got in.

Charlotte: Well I've got to go out again.

Judy suddenly spots Helen's bag on the chair.

Judy: That's strange. Why would she move out and not take her bag?

Charlotte: She probably just forgot it. Now I'll see you later.

Charlotte goes out, leaving Judy looking concerned. Judy tries phoning Helen but there is no answer. Judy decides to go up to Helen's room, and sees that she hasn't taken any of her belongings at all. Judy goes down and looks at the note again, she notices a tiny squiggle at the bottom of the page. Judy holds it close to her eye and can just make out the word "HELP!"

Judy: Oh my God!

Kath and Chrissie reach the front gate and hug each other as Kath notices Merle waiting for her. Kath goes over to Merle and they hug for a minute, then Kath takes one last look at Wentworth, and she and Merle go off together arm in arm. Chrissie smiles as they go off, then Mick pulls up.

Mick: Taxi for one gorgeous ex-prisoner.

Chrissie: Oh Mick, its so good to be out of that hole at last. This time its for good, I can promise you that.

Mick: Glad to hear it, now lets get you home.

Chrissie gets in the car and they drive off.

Meg and Pat are in reception talking about Kath and Chrissie getting out, when a young woman with long blonde hair walks in. She seems very dizzy and giggles a lot.

Meg: Can I help?

Woman (Tiffany): Oh yes hello. I'm Tiffany Tyler - but all my friends call me Tiff.

Pat: That's all very interesting but who did you want to see?

Tiffany: What? Oh you think I'm here to visit somebody.
She bursts into a fit of giggles.

Meg: Well what are you here for then?

Tiffany: I'm the new receptionist.

Meg: Oh no! Well this is Sally, she will show you what to do for now.

Tiffany says hello to Sally.

Tiffany: I'm afraid I can't type, but I'm sure I'll pick it up quite quickly.

Meg
(to Pat): What have the department sent us this time?

As they are heading home, Chrissie puts her hand on Mick's leg. Mick smiles.

Chrissie: I know I was a cow last time I got out Mick.

Mick: Yeah you were a bit.

Chrissie slaps him in fun and he swerves. They get beeped from a driver behind them and they both start laughing.

Chrissie: No but, I really want to make a go of it this time. Just you, me and Elizabeth.

Mick: We've got to get her back yet.

Chrissie: We'll get her back don't you worry. Brenda will have no choice in the matter. Anyway Derek will back me up.

Mick: You reckon?

Chrissie: 'Course he will, he's my brother ain't he.

Mick: And Brenda's his wife.

Chrissie: We'll see.

Mick: You've got to remember though Chrissie. Elizabeth has lived with Derek and Brenda since she was two, she doesn't know any different.

Chrissie: Who's side are you on?

Mick: Yours of course, and Elizabeth's. I just think it would be cruel to take her straight away, before she's had a chance to get used to us properly.

Chrissie: Alright, lets start straight away then. lets go and see her now.

Mick: Now? But we can't just turn up unannounced.

Chrissie: Of course we can. Now look Mick, I've hardly seen my little girl in the last few years. I need to see her now.

Mick: Alright you win. But just keep your cool when we get there OK?

Chrissie: Who me?

Mick: Yes, you!

They drive for a few minutes.

Mick: Hey I didn't tell you did I?

Chrissie: tell me what?

Mick: Why Rodney changed his mind.

Chrissie: Oh yeah. What did you do to him, bash him?

Mick: No nothing like that. He wanted the two grand back that I pinched off him.

Chrissie: Oh, that was for Elizabeth though.

Mick: I had to Chrissie. You'd still be inside if I hadn't. Anyway, he didn't get it all. I promised him the second half after he got you out.

Chrissie: And you never gave it to him? Good.

Mick: Too bloody right I didn't. And I've moved from that flat now, so he'll never find us.

Chrissie: Oh Mick. That's brilliant.

Mick: There was one other thing though.

Chrissie: Yeah, what?

Mick: He told me someone had been lagging to him inside.

Chrissie: Yeah I know. Sheila Blake. She's dead now though.

Mick: That wasn't who he said. He said it was somebody called Amanda Spencer.

Chrissie nearly jumps from her seat.

Chrissie: You're kidding me? But she had us all believe it was Sheila. Oh my God, just wait till I tell Su this!

Rodney goes back to Mick's old flat, but there is no answer. He knocks frantically. A neighbour tells him that the bloke living there moved out the day before. Rodney falls to his knees and starts crying. The neighbour asks if he's ok. Rodney gets up and goes off. The car starts following him again.

Tiffany is on her own in reception. She picks up the phone and makes a call.

Tiffany: Hiya its me.........Yeah everything's fine don't worry.............yeah the job's really cushy..........No I haven't had chance to find anything out yet............No don't worry, nobody suspects a thing............................

Helen is locked in a cellar and tied to a chair. The man who has been stalking her comes in.

Helen: What do you want with me, you bastard?

Man (Peter Benson): You've been ignoring me and I don't like that.

He starts stroking Helen's hair.

Helen: Please let me go. I'll do what you want, but just don't hurt me.

Peter: Don't worry I'd never hurt you. Just like I didn't hurt that other woman.

Helen: What other woman?

Peter: She saw me the other night, so I had to finish her quickly before she said anything.

Helen: You mean Wendy? You.....you killed her?

Peter: She didn't feel a thing. Don't worry about a thing, I would never do anything to hurt you.

Chrissie and Mick appraoch Derek's house in Mick's car. The fire brigade are there.

Chrissie: Bleedin' hell, the house is on fire!

She and Mick quickly get out of the car and go running over to the house. There is a crowd of people outside. Chrissie pushes her way through them all, shouting for Elizabeth. Brenda is being helped out of the house by a fireman.

Brenda: I've got to go and get Libby out.

Fireman: You're not going back in there. Leave it to the boys, they'll get her out.

Chrissie: You mean Elizabeth's still in there?

Brenda: Chrissie! Yes I tried............

Chrissie rushes past them before the fireman can stop her, and runs into the burning house shouting for Elizabeth............................................
