This year's annual Logie Awards in Melbourne, Australia, celebrated 50 fantastic years of Aussie drama on television and Prisoner was heavily mentioned.
A number of clips from the series' run were featured, along with a number of famous faces walking the red carpet at the Crown Entertainment Complex. The night was broadcast live on the Nine Network.
Prior to the event, word got around that Prisoner fans should keep their eyes on the box as they might be treated to a nice surprise... and they weren't let down!
Stars of the show Val Lehman and Colette Mann were reunited for a very special Wentworth style scene in the Logies Laundy Room, for one time only, recreating their characters of Bea Smith and Doreen Burns. There was even the famous 'head in the laundry press' moment - but it was all in good taste.
Hats off to Val and Colette for agreeing to take part in the sketch which was very well received by the audience - tongue was firmly in cheek but it was an excellent moment to watch. Incidentally, the scene was written by Val Lehman herself.
