On The Inside
Final Performance: Maggie Millar

One of Australia's finest actors, Maggie Millar has this month announced her retirement from the acting profession after a long and very successful career on stage and screen.

Having successfully won a scholarship to study at RADA in London Maggie graduated with honours, and is best known to Prisoner fans for the character of Marie Winter during her appearances throughout the show, but has appeared in a number of other series such as Bellbird, The Sullivans and more recently in Neighbours as Reverend Rosie Hoyland.

Maggie has won several acting awards throughout her career, including a Best Actress Logie and has performed on stage with many theatre productions - The Old Vic Company, Elizabethan Theatre Company and Melbourne Theatre Company to name a few.

Maggie's final role will coincide with her acclaimed performance as "Molly Bloom", a role which she has played annually since 1992. Fans of Maggie's who are in Melbourne should definitely try and make it to her last acting appearance on stage. Everyone is welcome:

SATURDAY 16th JUNE 2007 - 5:30PM

45 FLINDERS LANE
MELBOURNE

Like many actors of Maggie's age, work in Australia has become more difficult to find - resulting in a reduction in opportunities. Maggie has used this to take her career path in a completely different direction.

She has written and spoken extensively on the subjects of Body Image and Self-Acceptance, and Older Women and the Media. Since taking up painting a number of years ago, Maggie recently displayed her paintings and art-work at a special exhibition in Melbourne, Australia.

Maggie will look to concentrate on her art-work following her final acting performance in June.

We at OTI would like to take this opportunity to thank Maggie for an amazing acting career which has earned her a lot of respect from fellow actors, crew and fans. We have no doubt that Maggie has a lot to look forward to - we are excited to hear about her future projects and regularly will be dropping by her Official Website to keep up-to-date with her news.

So THANK YOU MAGGIE - and GOOD LUCK from everyone at OTI.
