Replacement for previous Social Worker Paul Reed, Agnes arrives in episode 135 but makes herself a little bit unpopular with her unusual approach to the job with more interest being shown to her beloved cat Butchie who shares the office with her.
Agnes has the attitude that a cup of tea will solve everything, however the women and staff find it difficult to agree with this stance - with both Lizzie and Doreen becoming 'victims' of her fussy way of life.
While frustrating the majority of staff, she strikes up an unlikely friendship with Jim Fletcher who takes time to get to know her while using this as a way of escaping his own job which he has become tired with. Jim feels sorry for Agnes and the treatment that she's receiving from everyone and tries to defend her but unfortunately his defence isn't strong enough to stop her resignation which is forced upon her in episode 140.
