Last Ep: 72
Total featured: 5 episodes
Close to: Doreen Anderson
Current Status: Deceased

Mother of inmate Doreen Anderson, Alice is in the process of settling the details of her will when Erica Davidson visits her in episode 66 following an appeal to try and trace Doreen.

She doesn't want to see Doreen at first, but is persuaded by Angela Jeffries to go to Wentworth and see her although poses as someone connected with the Half Way House (episode 67).

Alice tells Karen Travers that she doesn't want to see Doreen because she has terminal cancer (episode 70).

When Doreen is released to the Half Way House in episode 70, Alice offers to pay for her to go to college. They become good friends and go shopping together in episode 71. Alice uses this as her last visit to see Doreen, but comes back to the house to collect her shopping bag that she has left by mistake. By this time, Doreen has opened the present that Alice has given to her - a bottle of perfume. She recognises the scent as the same that her mother used to wear and all becomes clear to her that Alice is her real mother.

Initially upset and confused by the news, Doreen doesn't want to see Alice again but visits her in episode 72. Alice doesn't answer - she appears to be asleep. Doreen and Karen get a visit from the police in episode 73 advising that Alice has been found in a coma by her cleaning lady. She dies soon after in hospital but has left Doreen her everything in her will.
