Catherine first appears in episode 18. She worries when her teenage daughter, Sarah fails to come after school. She eventually arrives home two hours late, after being raped by a man who claimed he was a friend of her father’s, Bert Warren. Sarah tells Catherine what has happened and the police are immediately informed.
In episode 19, Sarah sees her attacker whilst out shopping for her mother. She telephones Catherine who drives down to the shop straight away. When she sees Bert running, Catherine knocks him down and drives the car over him several times.
Catherine is sent to Wentworth and put into solitary in episode 20. During this time, she has a talk with her lawyer Steve Wilson, who suggests that she may have killed the wrong man. Despite this, Catherine is released on bail until her trial.
In episode 22, Catherine is found guilty of manslaughter, and is sentenced to 3 years, with no grounds for an appeal. She soon gets acquainted with the other women, and makes good friends with Bea Smith.
Sarah visits Catherine in episode 23. Sarah informs her that her father wants her to live with her aunt permanently. Catherine receives yet another visit in episode 24, this time from her husband, Ken. He tells her that he has sold his business and is moving to a new job in Sydney. Their home will be occupied with tenants.
Catherine’s final appearance is during episode 24. She is last seen writing a letter to her husband, before she is moved to another block.
